Hello, I'm Amanda Faye.
I realized through my career journey that as grant writers we get stuck behind desks, treated as glorified editors, and we watch as our peers in major gifts quickly rise up to positions of leadership, while we provide the backbone of planning, support, and strategy to the organization. Do all of your development colleagues come to you to learn about what’s happening at your organization? And yet we are still often not invited to the table in major discussions and planning, and if we continue as grant writers, there are very few of us that make it into VP positions. I respect and admire my major gifts colleagues, and I learned from them and others how to empower myself as a leader.
Right now, I am working on launching a new program to empower grant writers who are stuck in their careers and feel like they can't do any more or rise any higher level up as leaders so they boost their success rate, advance their careers, and magnify their earning power.
I’m going to teach the methods and techniques I’ve developed to become a leader within organizations using my role as a grant writer. This isn’t your typical “how to write a case statement”, “how to make a logic model”, “how to write a budget narrative”, etc. program. My goal is to make you a leader in your organization, in grant writing, and advance your career. Using these skills, I went from making $50k a year as a mid-career grant writer to $250k a year as a grant strategist and leader.
